Sheetrock!

After having a really nice date with my awesome husband, we stopped by the house and checked out the progress. We got to meet the contractor's sheetrock guy, very nice, but then again, everyone in this process has been so nice. It feels meant to be. Most of the house's sheetrock is in, and like the contractor told us, it is looking like we are going to be in the house a week ahead of schedule(barring any problems with the bank...) This will make things much easier, as we can then be out of our townhouse by June 30th, and not have to pay anything into July! Things are coming along nicely, and I am just so darn excited to finally have our own home!!!

Side trip...

I love to take pictures, but sometimes I find, that the more pics I take of an event, the less I actually get to enjoy it. I had been stressed out with all the changes and adjustments in my life, and Ali needed to get away as well. So, my sis and I took a little overnight trip to Seattle on the 28th and 29th of May. We stayed in a hotel, and immediately went and checked out IKEA, then went and had dinner at my fav chinese restaurant The Golden Phoenix, then continued on to the Auburn Super Mall for 3 more hours of shopping! We shopped til we dropped, I think it's in our DNA. The next day we went to the Pike Place Market, and looked around. We've both been there recently, but it's still neat to check out all the crafts, etc. I found a nesting doll to add to my collection, and Ali found a beautiful cameo necklace. Then, after exhausting ourselves and our budget, we left for home. It was a really nice trip for her and I to do whatever we wanted, without children. My sis and I are like twins sometimes, we just read each others thoughts. I didn't take very many pics, I just really wanted to savor the occasion. But here are a few...

The perfect symbol of Seattle... and yes, it was raining the whole time we were there.

I think flowers are more beautiful than people any day.

My fortune from The Golden Phoenix.

Awwww, that lovely fish smell, it wouldn't be the market without it.

Scary...

More pretties... I mean flowers...

They had so many beautiful bouquets, but I didn't want to torture my sis the whole way back with her allergies, so I bought none...

The Boyer Bunch goes to the movies!!!

It is not often that we are all home at once for more than 3 hours at a time, we are definately a busy family. But, when the day came that we were, it was clear that a trip to the movie theatre to see Shrek 4 was in order. The day was May 19th and the kids were very excited. We don't go to the movies very often, 5 kids and 2 adults? Do you know how much that costs??? Auntie Ali and Grandma Cherrie came along too! All in all, the kids were pretty good throughout the movie and the adults enjoyed the movie as well! I really do love doing activities as a family! Here's some pics for you to enjoy...

Progess!

So, last week the paint color went on the house, despite more rainy days than sunny. They also got the porch and walkway poured. I am at that point where the process is less fascinating, and I just want my home to be finished even though I know they are moving at a very fast pace. I met with our contractor who was very helpful to me, and helped me to pick a good color for our home, I was very stressed out about this :)... I also put the final decisions in on the interior colors, etc. We are down to about a month left before we get to move in and I have still only packed 2 boxes. We did however go to the laundrymat (the least seedy we could find) and do 30+ loads of laundry, including bedding, clothes, towels, the works! So that is a step in the right direction I think. Our kids have had a run of bad luck in the sickness department this last couple weeks. We started with a streak of strep throat, everyone got it except Chad. Then there was the flu, tummy... eww... everyone got that, including Chad... then there was an outbreak of lice. Thankfully, only Megan and Nick got it... it still freaked me out. I have never had to deal with lice, so I created a battle plan, and just methodically moved through it, and now, I am happy to say we are lice free. Thank goodness! Now, the kids are healthy, for the time being, and so are we. Hoping next week, they get more going on the interior of the house... more exciting.

We have new Neighbors!!! YAY!

Visit to the park

The weather has been so nice the last couple days, we just had to make a visit or two to the park! I took this cute pic of Chad and Serena while we were at Mission park. Also, today Ali and I took Meggie garage saling. It was so fun to show her all the ins and outs of it. It was like a whole other world opened up to her. At first when we tried to explain dickering to her, she thought you actually offered MORE money, not less. It was cute! When she figured out you could offer less, she was so excited. She made her $5.00 go pretty far. One garage sale even boasted everything you could get in a bag for a dollar. We also hit one towards the end of the day that was ALL free!!! All-in-all, I think we did a pretty good job imparting or yard sale wisdom to Megan. Hope you all had a good week!

If it looks like a house, it must BE a house!

A lot has been done on the house, they are moving so fast! I am very pleased with the progress. I am trying to take so many pics so we don't forget this special time. A few people had said they thought our home was small, but now, looking in it, it doesn't look small at all. There is a place for everything. I ended up having to withdraw from school this last thursday. It was very hard for me, but I know that in the end, it was the best thing for the family. Too much pressure was on me to do so much, I felt like I was going to explode! Now I can just concentrate on the home and transitioning my family! Nice! So, enjoy the pics... more to come.

My mother's day present!

As if a new house being built, a pair of the most awesome birkenstocks ever and 5 healthy, happy children weren't enough.... my husband allowed me to adopt a beautiful little 7 mos old chihuahua named Chloe for mother's day. She is the most adorable dog! Still getting used to the whole puppy thing, and the occasional accidents... but I can deal with those, when she snuggles up to me with her tiny little body! I am so happy to have another baby in the family!

Some of the frame is up!

It's starting to look like a real home! Imagine that!!! Okay, back to studying!

Despite the fact that I had strep throat and an ear infection this year, Mother's day was still ok. We gathered up all the mothers we knew and had them join us at The Onion for dessert. And it was YUMMY! I enjoyed the company as well. So, for those that weren't with us today at the restaurant, hope you had an awesome Mother's day!!!
